Tim Burton’s newest exercise in aggressive whimsy is an adaptation of Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. The trailers look pretty good, and, as usual in a Burton film, the set is amazing, particularly the titular home, which is giant, imposing, and full of wonder. And now, thanks to artist Christine McConnell, it’s also made of gingerbread! She’s recreated the house in painstaking, sugary detail, and you can see the entire process here! This is especially appropriate given that one of Burton’s first movies was also about a delicious-looking gingerbread house.
